Here is the VSX 1020 K review by Solera Man (Belcamp, MD USA)  about his Pioneer

I needed an upgrade to a HDMI receiver, and decided to go with a Pioneer to match my BDP-320 blu-ray player. I also wanted plenty of expansion, so the 6 HDMI inputs on this model fit the bill. I am very pleased with the sound and versatility of this receiver. I also have the bluetooth adapter which works with my Blackberry and can stream music from across the room. All together I have a Comcast HD-DVR, the blu-ray player, a Toshiba HD-A30 HD DVD player, and a Philips DVD recorder all connected by HDMI cables to the receiver, and then a single HDMI cable to our VIZIO sv470xvt1a TV. I get full lossless audio (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio) from my blu-rays and HD DVD’s, and excellent de-interlaced video (1080i to 1080p) from the Comcast DVR. I’m using a pretty inexpensive 5.1 array of speakers (old Kenwoods for the front left/right and Polk center and surrounds with a computer subwoofer!) but get sound that is far beyond what I got before with my Panasonic SA-XR10. The receiver barely gets warm to the touch after hours of use.

The only problems I have faced have been associated with other components. If the TV is turned on before the receiver the HDMI sync does not always work, but I have had other problems with the HDMI on this TV and do not believe the receiver is to blame. Internet radio works, but will usually suddenly disconnect after 15 – 45 minutes, however this has been found to be related to the use of a DLink DAP-1522 bridge in my network. Only people seeing this problem have this specific bridge. If the bridge is turned off, the problem goes away.

I highly recommend this receiver; it is beautiful and works extremely well.
